Post natal Depression ( PND)

In a time where everyone expects you to be aglow with the joy of your new baby, parents often find they are experiencing crying spells, guilt, increased feelings of vulnerability, irritability, loneliness and weariness and are feeling utterly overwhelmed. However, You are not alone. The HSE research shows that at least 1 in every 6 mothers experiences post natal depression (PND). You may also be surprised to know that PND can affect men as well as women.

Psychotherapy and family therapy can help by giving you a safe and non-judgemental environment to express your feelings; we can address issues by looking to seek out root causes for negative thoughts, and by putting helpful supportive structures in place to support you as you recover and get accustomed to this huge change in your life.
